History of this Site
The impetus for this site came from Dan W. in mid 2015; he suggested something modeled on the Friends of Sylvania site. Mike D. made a beta version based on that site and Dan obtained permission from Friends of Sylvania to use their html markup as a starting point. Mike, Kari S., and Anne H. met and refined the beta version and it continues to evolve as more pages were added and polished with comments from interested parties.
Tools and Maintenance Procedure
No fancy html tools were used to develop or are used to maintain the site; the author prefers to use the Windows Notepad editor to create and edit the files making up the site. Each page is kept as three .txt files, a common to all pages header, the body, and a common to all pages footer. The parts are combined using a Windows .bat file containing a DOS copy command for each page.
